More about Iris
Iris, also known as Orris, is one of the most expensive ingredients in perfumes. Production of this beautiful powdery, soft, floral, elegant note requires great patience. It’s the rhizomes and roots of iris which must be left for three to five years to mature. They’re then steam-distilled to produce an oily yellow compound known as ‘iris butter’. In this form it is then the darling of perfumers... known as an ultra-feminine heart note.
