More about Cinnamon
Cinnamon is spicy and enticing, comforting and sweet all at once. 2000 years ago Egyptians were experimenting with cinnamon in scent. However the Cinnamomum tree is native to southeast Asia, so no doubt this spice has been used in Asia well before the Egyptians enjoyed its qualities. Cinnamomum verum is thought to have been an ingredient in the original holy ‘anointing oil’, mentioned in the Bible. Cinnamon-scented oil was used to sanctify people and objects and was often referred to as the scent of love. The Greeks and Romans were known to have used this exotic ingredient also.
