The Natural Perfume Guide to Paris

Paris has long been synonymous with luxury, elegance, and, most notably, perfume. For centuries, it has been the epicenter of perfumery, with its roots deeply entwined with Grasse, the southern French town known as the birthplace of modern perfumery. Grasse’s fields of lavender, rose, and jasmine have provided the natural ingredients for many of the world’s most iconic fragrances, shaping Paris into the capital of scent innovation and luxury. Even today, the city brims with perfumeries on almost every corner, offering everything from timeless classics to modern niche creations.

As the founder of Sensoriam, I recently spent three weeks exploring Paris with a personal mission: to uncover the best places for 100% natural perfumes. My passion for botanical perfumery and the transparency of ingredients inspired me to find hidden gems that celebrate ancient methods and pure, high-quality ingredients.

Here’s what I discovered.

My Parisian Journey: A Quest for Natural Perfumery

Jessica's natural perfume guide to Paris

1. La French Beauty

La French Beauty

Nestled in Paris, La French Beauty is a sanctuary for natural beauty enthusiasts, offering a curated selection of French skincare, haircare, and perfumes crafted with a focus on clean, natural formulations. Guided by the knowledgeable and passionate Alice, I explored unique perfume brands, learning their stories and examining their natural ingredient percentages to align with my values.

The boutique’s collective spirit stood out, with Alice’s enthusiasm for French beauty and natural products shining through every conversation. As an independent collective, La French Beauty champions over 60 emerging brands that embody innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship, both in its Marais concept store and through creative distribution across France and beyond.

2.  Isotta Natural Perfumes

Isotta natural perfume

Meeting Véronique Remblière, the founder and perfumer behind Isotta, was an unforgettable experience. Her passion for creating 100% natural fragrances was evident in every detail she shared, from sourcing wild-harvested and organic ingredients to her meticulous crafting process. Véronique explained how Isotta prioritises sustainability, using recyclable glass bottles, eco-friendly packaging, and materials sourced from small-scale artisans worldwide.

As we talked, I was struck by her dedication to the purity of her creations. She avoids synthetic additives entirely, relying on the richness of essential oils, CO2 extracts, and organic wheat alcohol. Véronique’s background in art and aromatherapy shines through in her fragrances, which she sees as soulful companions rather than mere scents.

Experiencing Isotta firsthand, I felt deeply connected to the natural world. These perfumes are not only beautiful but a testament to the power of nature and the artistry of truly natural perfumery.

3. Maison Neroli

Maison Neroli

During my visit to Paris, I stumbled upon Maison Néroli, a charming boutique dedicated to essential oils, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. Owned by Viengvilaÿ and Grégory, the store offers an exquisite selection of 350 essential oils, each sourced with exceptional care and passion.

Grégory’s knowledge was truly remarkable. He shared fascinating details about the origins of their oils—the farms, wild harvesting locations, distilleries, and processes involved. The quality of the oils was extraordinary, even down to the rich colours I hadn’t seen elsewhere. His dedication to supporting small-scale, artisanal producers who respect nature’s rhythms and traditions was inspiring. Maison Néroli’s commitment to fostering fair relationships with their distillers, without negotiating prices, ensures the preservation of artisanal craftsmanship and sustainable farming.

I also discovered two incredible 100% natural perfume brands here: Parfumeurs de Monde and Sharini, both rooted in small-scale, artisanal production. Maison Néroli even offers its own range of room mists, oil blends, and supplies for those looking to create their own blends.

My time in the store felt like an extraordinary journey with my sense of smell. Grégory spent so much time with me, guiding me through this aromatic world. I wholeheartedly recommend Maison Néroli to anyone passionate about essential oils or natural perfumes—it’s truly a treasure trove for the senses.

4. Oh My Cream

Oh My Cream boutique shop in Paris

With its minimalist white interiors and calming ambiance, Oh My Cream offers a thoughtfully curated selection of clean beauty products from around the globe. While their focus extends beyond perfumery, their natural scent offerings are still worth exploring, alongside their in-store treatments that make it a relaxing destination for beauty enthusiasts.

During my visits to two of their stores, I appreciated the chance to discover new products, even though none of their perfumes were 100% natural. I picked up an ILIA mascara and eyeshadow palette, as I admire the brand’s approach to natural makeup. Oh My Cream defines clean beauty as more than just ingredient lists—it’s a commitment to transparency, eco-consciousness, and a balance between efficacy, safety, and environmental respect. By embracing clean beauty, they encourage choices that are better for both personal health and the planet, without compromising results.

The perfumes in this store were clean perfume brands. Some quite well known clean perfume brands like Vyrao.

5. Baumea

Baumea natural perfume

Baumea is a charming boutique dedicated to natural fragrances, tucked away on a picturesque Parisian street near the Moulin Rouge. Inside, I discovered an array of brands, many highlighting a commitment to natural ingredients, including 100 Bon, a standout brand known for being 100% natural and embracing transparency and simplicity in their formulations.

The boutique embodies the benchmark for natural, eco-responsible, and French-made perfumes, with offerings crafted from eco-sourced ingredients, locally produced, and packaged in recycled materials. While the space exudes a natural and inviting atmosphere, I noticed that the assistant was unfamiliar with the exact percentages of natural ingredients in the various brands—a sign that this line of inquiry might still be uncommon in Paris. It was an enjoyable experience, though I found myself diving into my own research to better understand the selection.

The Baumea selection of natural perfume brands are here - they are not all 100% natural so do your research.

My favourite brand I found here was 100BON and it is 100% natural which was exciting.

You can learn more about this brand and my favourite scent Cuir Végétal here.

6. L’Herbe a Savon

L’Herbe a Savon

Located in the heart of Paris' Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood, L’Herbe à Savon is a charming boutique brimming with natural beauty products. During my visit, I discovered an impressive selection of 100% natural perfumes, including standout brands like Aimée de Mars, Isotta, and Abel Perfume. I couldn’t resist treating myself to some Dr. Hauschka mascara—a long-time favorite of mine.

This boutique is perfect for anyone seeking personal attention and a curated selection of natural beauty products, featuring both French and international brands. Situated at 27 Rue d'Assas, 75006 Paris, L’Herbe à Savon also offers an online store where you can explore organic skincare, makeup, body care, hair care, perfumes, and more. Each product is carefully chosen to meet the highest standards of quality and eco-responsibility.

My favourite 100% natural perfume brand I found here was Mystique Amethyste by Aimee de Mars.

7. Mademoiselle Bio

Mademoiselle Bio

Mademoiselle Bio is a trusted destination for organic and natural beauty, with several locations across Paris and beyond. Specialising in certified organic products, they offer over 4,000 items from 150 brands, ensuring transparency and quality. Their trained beauticians provide personalised consultations to help you craft an organic beauty routine tailored to your needs.

When I visited, I appreciated the convenience of their multiple stores but found the perfume selection limited and not particularly inspiring in its presentation. While it’s a great spot to restock your natural beauty essentials, it felt more functional than luxurious, making it better suited for everyday purchases than for discovering something truly special.

You will find Mademoiselle Bio’s selection of natural perfume here.

8. Officine Universelle Buly

Officine Universelle Buly

While wandering the streets of Paris, I stumbled upon Officine Universelle Buly, a hidden gem that felt like stepping straight into the 19th century. The apothecary-style boutique exudes old-world charm, with polished walnut furniture, marble-topped counters, and antique glassware creating an enchanting atmosphere. I was lucky to avoid the long lines it’s known for and immediately became captivated by its unique blend of history and innovation.

The shop’s scent-testing system was fascinating—using tubes and rubber bulbs to waft fragrances to your nose, adding an almost magical touch to the experience. Their water-based perfumes were subtle yet intriguing, and the scented matches were a fun and unexpected find. While the staff assured me the products are natural, I plan to dig deeper into the ingredient lists for confirmation.

I couldn’t resist picking up a set of 10ml vials of their best-sellers to take home, along with those charming scented matches. The shop even features a coffee bar, blending old and new in a way that felt delightfully Parisian. With locations in several cities, I’d highly recommend visiting for the sensory and aesthetic experience—it’s a true journey back in time.
