Ok… mums.
Who’s with me… or is it just me and my particular flavour of dreaming out loud?
Because this is what’s currently sitting at the top of my Mother’s Day wish list…

1. A Very Specific Kind of Grocery Shop
Give me an unlimited budget and plenty of time at Harris Farm Markets.
Not a rushed “grab what we need” shop.
No.
I want to wander.
Slowly.
I want to pick up the best fruit, smell the herbs, choose the perfect tomatoes. Add in the indulgent extras. The juices. The things I wouldn’t normally buy.
Fill the fridge. Fill the house.
And then…
Give me the time to use it all.
Maybe you help. Maybe we gather a bunch of mums.
We cook together. We laugh. We make enough for now… and for the days ahead.
Honestly? That alone feels like luxury.

2. A Garden Day That Turns Into a Movement
Then…
Give me an unlimited budget and time at a nursery.
Any nursery. Every nursery.
I want a guide with me—someone who knows plants the way I know scent.
Help me choose what will thrive. What will climb. What will bloom.
I want flowers.
I want herbs.
I want things that bring bees and butterflies back into the space.
And then… we take it further.
We gather the mums.
We rotate between houses.
We get our hands in the dirt.
Balconies. Backyards. Little corners of green.
We build something beautiful, together.

3. Vintage Treasure Hunting (with Zero Time Pressure)
Ohhh… and then.
Give me time (again, lots of it) to wander through U-Turn Vintage and every beautiful vintage store we can find.
No agenda.
Just browsing. Trying things on. Finding those unexpected gems.
Pieces that feel like me.
Pieces that tell a story.
Pieces that are part of the circular economy.
And yes… we absolutely try on the weird and the whacky too.
Because that’s half the fun.

4. A Private Cinema, Please
And then…
Give me a cinema.
Just for us.
A bunch of mums.
Cocktails flowing.
Blankets. Doonas. Pillows everywhere.
We watch Grease and sing loudly.
We cry through Breakfast at Tiffany's.
We indulge in The Devil Wears Prada like it’s a ritual.
And sneak in DUNE (any of them) and STAR WARS (any of them!) - cos that's my jam!
And somewhere in between…
We turn it into a dance floor.
Because obviously.
So… That’s My List
Ummm… yeah.
That’s what I’d like.
Realistically?
I’ll get big hugs.
Beautiful cards.
Chocolate.
And I will love every second of that.
And…
I’ll probably still be quietly planning all of the above.
Happy Mother’s Day 🤍
To all the mums.
And the mum-figures.
And the women who hold, nurture, guide, and love in their own way.
You deserve the slow moments.
The joy.
The space to feel like you again.
You? What’s on your list?
