What’s Your ArtSense?
Sensoriam was thrilled to partner with Curatorial & Co. for the ArtSense event—a truly extraordinary evening that immersed guests in a journey of the senses. The event, set against the stunning backdrop of Morgan Stokes’ recent exhibition Skeleton, blended visual art with sensory experiences in an interactive, curated evening of scent, taste, and touch. Designers, art enthusiasts, and industry experts came together to explore art on a new level, with categories crafted to evoke different sensory states: Exhale, Pleasure, Fuse, and Unearthed.
Curatorial & Co. invited Sensoriam to bring our signature touch with a curated selection of luxe, 100% natural perfumes to complement each category. These scents offered a fresh lens through which guests could engage with the art, deepening their connection to the space and its visual masterpieces. The concept was simple yet powerful: to make art not only something you see, but something you can feel, smell, and savour.
A Multi-Sensory Art Journey: Bringing Art to Life through Scent
At ArtSense, visual art was paired with scent and taste to deepen the impact of each piece. LoFi Wines provided an impeccable selection of wines that beautifully complemented each category, enhancing the sensory experience and allowing guests to taste and smell as they moved through each themed section. For our part, Sensoriam contributed by matching a distinctive natural scent with each category. Our founder, Jessica Kiely, was on hand to guide guests through each fragrance, using glass funnels to allow the natural perfume’s full character to unfold.
Each of the four scents had its own space, displayed on elegant plinths adorned with elements that captured the story, ingredients, and mood of the fragrance. Jessica shared the inspiration behind each scent, revealing how every note—sourced naturally from flowers, herbs, roots, and resins—tells a unique story and elicits a powerful response.
What scents were featured?
EXHALE - The Exhale category was designed to capture that profound sense of release we feel with a deep, true exhale. For this, we chose Rockpool by Wyalba, a creation by artisan perfumer Samuel Graven. Representing the essence of a plunge into the serene green waters of an inland rock pool, Rockpool melds the scents of solid rock, cool misty water, and intertwined branches, roots, and leaves. It’s a sensory journey that evokes nature’s quiet, grounded beauty.

Mood Board from Curatorial & Co
UNEARTHED - The Unearthed category aimed to evoke the raw, grounded feeling of emerging from the elements, with a touch of earthiness and dirt under the fingernails—a sense of rugged, organic beauty. We curated Wild Woud by Vanessa Megan for this category, presenting it nestled in a bed of moss as if rising from the lush, green depths of the forest floor. This rich scent, created by Vanessa of Vanessa Megan Skincare, is a deep, earthy blend that embodies warmth and rustic elegance.

Mood Board from Curatorial & Co
PLEASURE - The Pleasure category celebrates sensual delights, rich decadence, and graceful movement. It evokes romance, dreaminess, and an otherworldly allure with an aesthetic of velvet textures, silk drapery, and poetic elegance. For this category, we selected Aura-Soma 58, adorned with a luxurious purple orchid draped across its plinth to highlight its enchanting presence. This lilac floral essence supports deep personal transformation, guiding us back to harmony and synchronicity.
The unique colour pairing in Aura-Soma—pale blue over pale pink, named Orion and Angelica—is particularly beneficial for travellers, promoting a feeling of being grounded, present, and fully integrated. Often described as facilitating a ‘return to synchronicity,’ it harmonises our energy, encouraging circumstances to unfold with natural flow. Lilac, as we interpret it, signifies transmutation, symbolising a transformation at the deepest levels of our being.

Mood Board from Curatorial & Co
FUSE - The Fuse category is all about grounded strength, solid foundations, and a sense of structure and support. Inspired by neo-industrial design, it evokes urban landscapes, raw concrete, metal, and monochromatic tones—think brickwork, steel, and slate. For this theme, we chose Solitude by One Seed, crafted by perfumer Liz Cook, the brand’s founder. This scent was a crowd favorite, exuding an earthy strength and grounded energy.
We paired Solitude with two powerful black tourmaline crystals, freshly activated under the full moon. Known as a grounding stone, black tourmaline is believed to connect the Earth and spirit, dispelling negative energy and fostering self-confidence, protection, and resilience. This crystal choice enhanced Solitude’s essence of peaceful strength.
Solitude embodies the feeling of being alone yet content in nature, like a secluded woodland cabin surrounded by smouldering herbs and dusky, golden light. Strong and steady, it reflects a deep comfort in solitude and self-connection.

This collaboration with Curatorial & Co. was a rare and beautiful moment to bring natural perfumery into the art world as an art form in itself. Botanical perfumers craft scent the way painters use colour or sculptors use form, creating an olfactory narrative that can captivate and inspire. Each fragrance we showcased at ArtSense had been thoughtfully chosen to reflect the essence of the art and the curated categories. It was a celebration of the artistry within natural perfumery, highlighting its ability to elevate any setting.
