Easy, natural gift ideas for Mum
It’s always a mad scramble to figure out what to get Mum for Mother’s Day. What do you give that person who spent hours and hours selflessly feeding you, comforting you, helping you, loving you? (NB. I have just become a mum for the first time, my bubba is just 2 months old. After my fifth sleepless night in a row, full appreciation for Mums right now.) 😂
With Jess and I owning a natural perfume collective, of course we are going to suggest perfume for Mother’s Day.
But with so much to choose from how do you figure out what’s right for your Mum?

Choose a Natural Perfume via Major Ingredient

Here's a great way to figure out what to get your Mum.
Start by finding out what synthetic perfume your Mum used to wear, (hopefully you’ve already converted her to the benefits of losing her synthetic fragrance, and going high quality natural with her perfume).
So for me, I know my Mum used to wear Anais Anais. It’s a big floral scent with Jasmine the most profound note. So I just popped onto the Sensoriam site, and went to NATURAL PERFUME > MAJOR INGREDIENT.
I then clicked on Jasmine to see all the Jasmine style perfumes at Sensoriam, and this year for my Mum I chose Divya by Tulita. Divya is described as a hypnotic scent. It harmoniously blends floral notes, such as the sweet amber of jasmine and frankincense, with the richness of earthy Australian Sandalwood and Cedarwood. Perfect for those on the ascent - seeking more mindful and elevated states.
Choose natural perfume via scent profile

If you want to go broader in your perfume search, a great way to explore perfumes is via Scent Profile.
There are five different scent profiles in which to define perfume - Floral, Sweet, Citrus, Woody, Spicy (sometimes called Oriental).
For my Mum, I know Anais Anais is a floral perfume. So searching in the NATURAL PERFUME > FLORAL category gives an abundance of floral style perfume choices.
So Mum (Jane) if you are reading this, sorry I have ruined the surprise… Divya by Tulita is turning up at your door, just in time for Mother’s Day.
So what has Jess from Sensoriam chosen for her Mum?

“Hey Mum, can you please jump on our site and do the Scent Quiz and let me know what results you get?”
“Sure” says mum (Louisa!)
"So I am waiting for her response. My children and I are about to get in the car and drive out to country NSW to spend a quick weekend with them. Time is ticking. Still no response. What to do? Tune in. What do I remember her wearing as a child? What does she love to have around her? What’s in her garden? Roses. Lots and lots of roses. She is obsessed with growing and studying roses. She must be FLORAL!
My children and I headed straight to the Biology Fragrances range and started smelling each one. The bottles are so beautiful, so I know she will love that. Joy spoke to us straight away. A milky, powdery natural that says blooming. All of the florals are well balanced, so they don't overtake.
It also brought back a memory to me. A memory of a perfume she used to wear when I was a child. White Linen by Estee Lauder. A quick look at the scent notes of White Linen show it to be a FLORAL fragrance and to have top notes of Lemon and Peach; middle notes are Hyacinth, Carnation, Lily-of-the-Valley, Rose, Lilac, Jasmine, iris, Orris, Violet, Ylang-Ylang and Orchid; base notes are Oakmoss, Vetiver, Cedar, Sandalwood, Benzoin, Honey, Amber and Tonka Bean.
Joy by Biology Fragrances is also floral, so it will be perfect.
Over the lovely Easter long weekend we let my mum have her Mother's Day present early. And she loves it."
