When Birkenhead Point invited us to be part of their “Happiness is ….” 2024 spring activation, I knew we had an incredible opportunity to create something truly special. This wasn’t just about setting up a retail pop-up — it was about building an immersive, joyful experience that would celebrate the new season and draw shoppers into the centre.
The Vision
I created a professional three-week pop-up that combined both retail and experiential elements. I curated and styled the display to align with the centre’s “Happiness Is” aesthetic, ensuring a visually engaging and cohesive space. I operated the pop-up daily for three weeks alongside the Sensoriam team, offering a retail experience that showcased Sensoriam’s 100% natural perfumes, candles, and room sprays. To create interest and activation buzz, I incorporated natural perfume classes directly within the space. I also supplied 2ml mini perfumes for giveaway boxes, which were gifted to customers who spent over a set amount.
The activation needed to balance professional retail standards with our unique experiential approach, ensuring it appealed to everyday shoppers while still feeling luxe and inviting.

The Experience
I created a full pop-up activation in the centre’s open-air event space, styled to align with the shopping centre’s spring look and feel. The activation showcased the complete Sensoriam range of 100% natural perfumes, candles, and room sprays, displayed with a custom funnel sampling technique that allowed shoppers to experience each fragrance.
To bring the space to life, I also ran natural perfume-making classes directly within the activation zone. A central table and benches converted at set times of day into workshop stations, drawing in curious shoppers and creating a lively, interactive focal point. Guests learned about natural perfumery, explored scent notes, and crafted their own personalised fragrance.
My team and I, dressed in custom uniforms styled to match the space, delivered professionalism and warmth throughout the three-week activation. Over this time, we also:
Supplied 2ml mini perfumes for the shopping centre’s promotional gift boxes.
Collaborated with select retailers for a “Scent & Style” content series, pairing perfumes with fashion looks from Assembly Label, Ginger & Smart, Forever New, and Calvin Klein Tailored.
Hosted influencers who created engaging social content and Reels, amplifying the activation to thousands of viewers online.

The Impact
I delivered 15 natural perfume classes throughout the activation, with more than 40 attendees enjoying full two-hour sessions—some even choosing to stay longer, which reflected the sense of fun and connection the space created. Many shoppers came specifically for the classes, bringing new foot traffic into the centre.
The experience received positive influencer coverage, highlighting the uniqueness of the activation. Collaborations with fashion retailers also added valuable cross-promotion for the centre, while staff from Birkenhead Point visited to enjoy the space and participate in classes, helping to deepen internal engagement.
The 2024 spring activation successfully embodied the centre’s “Happiness Is” theme, creating an elevated, multi-sensory retail experience that combined discovery, education, and delight — a true first for Birkenhead Point.
