More about Ylang Ylang

Ylang Ylang is a tendrilled travelling tropical flower with white blossoms. It was once known as the poor man’s Jasmine because of its similar scent profile. But now it is revered as an exotic, intense, rich fragrance that is incredibly expensive.

A German sailor Albertus Schwenger, charmed by the captivating fragrance of its flowers, installed the first Ylang Ylang distillation unit in 1860 in Manila, the Philippines, which gave rise to the trade of essential oil. Ylang ylang now grows in the Philippines, Java, Réunion and the Comoro Islands. It has a delicate, sweet floral note in flower form, and is used for making the most feminine scents.
